**Fullfills Suicide Prevention Licensure Requirement** This workshop will teach you how to recognize signs of suicidal intent, intervene, and help consumers help themselves. It will focus on difficulties people face when coping with both mental illness and substance abuse, and how these problems can lead to suicide and/or violence. Much of the presentation will be didactic. We will review a model for assessing suicidality. Participants will be asked to assess the safety of their workplace and work habits. (A more in-depth assessment is provided in a future training.)
