Emil Smith
Emil K. Smith is a doctoral student in the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. Their scholarship focuses on health equity for transgender and gender diverse (TGD) populations, with an emphasis on engaging community perspectives to improve the healthcare experiences of TGD adults with eating disorders. Their research is informed by their work in primary care, outpatient, and intensive outpatient mental health settings, and is inspired by disability justice movements and anti-carceral mental health advocacy.
