SSW Alum's Memory Lives on in Fund that Helps Community Programs that Prevent Crime

Denise Moon passed away from breast cancer in 2004, but her legacy lives on as a memorial fund set up in her name helps community programs that prevent crime. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work,  Moon was the first social worker at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s rape treatment center, where she taught military personnel, clergy, attorneys, and doctors in South Florida how to help rape victims.  Read more about her lasting impact in Local 10's series honoring on heros who were victims of breast cancer.
