PhD students wins national fellowship

PhD student Daniel Jacobson was named a 2017 Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Doctoral Minority Fellow. The program is aimed at increasing the number of culturally competent racial/ethnic doctoral student researchers and leaders to conduct research to improve the lives and health outcomes of racial/ethnic populations.  They selected 8 incoming fellows this year. The fellowship provides Jacobson with up to three years of funding to help him continue his research on rape reporting practices for gay Latino sexual assault survivors. "This fellowship will provide me with additional funding, training, education and networking with other minority scholars in Social Work to help me continue to build upon my education at the University at Pittsburgh, in order to continue my research aimed to improve mental health outcomes for gay Latino and Black male rape survivors."
