MSW alumni Angela DeVan and Johnnie Geathers were on the Ebony Spectrum on WRCT 88.3 FM to discuss events and activities within the Community Empowerment Association (CEA) including the 2016 Black Family Reunion weekend from August 12th through August 14th. Friday, August 12th, there will be a youth summit and a basketball tournament. Saturday, August 13th, a race & politics forum, culture of violence forum, and a block party. Sunday, August 14th, closing the weekend off will be a free concert by Con Funk Shun and Pieces of a Dream at Schenley Park Oval. Starting in September special monthly therapeutic forum events will be available for the community to learn about different issues that affect the African American community, along with resources to help one another as a collective unit.
