Welcome to the New CRSP Associate Director Ron Idoko!

Ron Idoko will be joining the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work as the new Associate Director for the Center on Race and Social Problems (CRSP). Idoko has worked for many years at the University's Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. He has been the driving force behind the annual Diversity Forum and has spearheaded and led the Racial Equity Consciousness Series. He also has a range of well-developed and critical ideas and plans around the broader concept of social equity and the ways that universities can work to utilize research, education, and praxis to advance social change.

"I am very eager for him to be working with CRSP -- at present, he will be working most closely with Drs. John Wallace and Aliya Durham, as we continue our search for a new permanent director of CRSP" said Dean Betsy Farmer. "He will be working on a number of fronts -- including increasing student programming/involvement with CRSP, running day-to-day operations to reinvigorate CRSP's activities/profile, developing programming and evaluation related to social equity work, and engaging closely with Dr. Wallace to envision/engage CRSP's role in the broader university's goals around truly creating and supporting an environment where race-based and equity-based efforts, and the faculty who advance them, are central, thriving, and leading."
