OLDER ADULTS' IMPRESSIONS OF TELEMEDICINE BEFOREAND DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

This group is investigating the reactions of older adults to usingtelemedicine to connect with their medical providers before and duringthe COVID-19 pandemic. Through analyzing one-on-one interviews witholder adults, this project will provide practitioners with a betterunderstanding of the challenges patients encounter when usingtelemedicine and what might make their experiences better. Theconclusions drawn from this analysis will be made available to providersto help guide policies and best practices for telemedicine through the endof the pandemic and beyond.

BASW Cohort Project

ARMCHAIR TRAVEL IN A LONG-TERM CARE FACILITY

This project will provide residents of a long-term care facility with theuplifting opportunity to experience travel through simulation. One ofthe desired outcomes is to provoke feelings of awe and gratitude forthe beautiful world we live in. Another desired outcome is to stimulatetheir autobiographical memories and connect through their reminiscedtravel experiences to remedy their isolation during the ongoingpandemic.
