Workshop on trauma aims to help educators

Faison Elementary administrators, teachers, and staff participated in an interactive professional development workshop on trauma-informed care in the school setting by Dr. Yodit Betru, Yodit Betru, Clinical Assistant Professor and Agency Coordinator in the Child Welfare Education and Research Program.  The workshop provided the Faison team with information on how complex trauma impacts brain and child development, useful tips on how to create a calming classroom and school culture,  and individualized self-care plans for all personnel.
