Pet Calendar for charity
PhD student Kess Ballentine is hosting a fundraiser for a nonprofit she helped start. She has an instagram account of her pets (2 cats, 3 rabbits) called @house.of.many.buns. This year, Ballentine made a calendar that she is selling that benefits Durham LEAP, which provides free bilingual preschool and tutoring support through middle school for primarily Latinx, low-income children in Durham NC. $5 of every calendar (which = all the profits) go straight to the nonprofit. Crochet and Knitting
Terri Galloway (née Spicher), Pitt MSW 2006, has a small crochet/knit business. She mainly focuses on cold weather accessories - hats, scarves, etc, but she does have a few other items such as crocheted scrunchies, including a "Panther" set that is blue and gold. Pop-Up Luxury Picnics
Blanket & Board is an event planning company co-owned by MSW alumnae, Tierra Thorne and Colleen Peddycord. They provide pop-up, luxury picnics featuring charcuterie boards in the city of Pittsburgh.
