MSW Alumna Author of New Book: "Vitamin C: Healing for the Mind, Body and Soul" - Book Signing Sept 20

ATLANTA, GA. — Expected End Entertainment, LLC, and EX3 Books announced today the release and book signing for Vitamin C: Healing for the Mind, Body and Soul by Pittsburgh social worker and therapist Sharise M. Hemby.

A book signing event is scheduled for September 20, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. at The Union Project, 801 Negley Avenue, Suite #5, in East Liberty. “I’ve seen so much negativity in the world in my 14 years as a therapist and in the community that I was compelled to write this book as a way to offer my help,” said Hemby, a licensed social worker and co-owner of HandinHand Counseling Services, LLC, in Pittsburgh. “Some people just don’t know what to do or where to go. Vitamin C will give them some direction.” Vitamin C: Healing for the Mind, Body and Soul addresses many of the issues that have been top stories in recent months, including community violence; mental health issues such as depression and bi-polar disorder; stereotypes to therapy in the African-American community; communication breakdown in the process of healing; and much more. Like Vitamin C is an essential nutrient for the body when battling an illness, this book provides answers and practical examples to help deal with some of the most common issues in our society.  “I believe that people’s lives will be changed by this book,” EX3 Books publisher C. Nathaniel Brown said. “Sometimes it takes someone with Ms. Hemby’s experience and compassion to take the initiate that will precipitate change in our communities.” For more information about Making Wings or C.
