Faculty member has new study published

Assistant Professor Darren Whitfield has a new article published in AIDS Care. The study is about the role of internalized racism on engagement in biomedical HIV prevention among Black gay and bisexual men in the United States. Using a national sample of 432 Black MSM, we examined the relationship between condom and PrEP use and internalized racism. The results suggest there is some evidence for an association between internalized racism and PrEP use. In addition, internalized racism was not associated with condom use for both insertive and receptive anal sex among Black MSM. Read here.
