Assistant Professor Darren Whitfield was chosen for the IMPACT program (Institutional Mentoring Program Across a CommuniTy of Color). Sponsored by the Office of the Provost, IMPACT focuses on mentoring, professional development, and community. During the 2018-2019 academic year, the mentees will meet with their mentor on a monthly basis to discuss careers, personal life issues, or whatever is pressing at that time. The Office of the Provost will sponsor three events during the year in which the participants will be joined by other faculty of color from across the University.
