Faculty member awarded grant

Dr. Valire Copeland has received a new grant from the School of Social Work titled, "Addressing Autism in African American Families" for $15,000. This work builds on collaborations with community partners (Autism Urban Connections and Janice Nathan, LLC), CiTECH, and the School of Education to explore African American familiesʼ experiences with seeking and receiving care for their children with autism and will pilot test a novel focused intervention, Thinking in Speech, for this population.
