Doctoral student selected for international training

PhD Candidate Valerie Hruschak was one of 10 international trainees selected who is being supported to attend the Connaught Summer Institute in Pain (CSIP) in Toronto. CSIP is a 5-day program that includes high-intensity lectures, panel discussions, small group work, and interactive workshops, with a Scientific Meeting on the 5th day. Topics will include basic science research examining factors that influence pain processing and perception, clinical pain research focused on interpersonal variability in chronic pain, and clinical precision pain management. A knowledge translation thread will be woven throughout, with discussions on how to use the results of research to impact policy, practice, and knowledge building. Hruschak is looking forward to attending the summer institute, and excited about networking opportunities and incorporating her learning into her future research and practice.
