Doctoral student receives an Albert Schweitzer Fellowship

Doctoral student Andrea A. Joseph has been selected to receive an Albert Schweitzer Fellowship.  Her service project will be at the Student Achievement Center in Homewood to provide mentoring for suspended students, where she will also facilitate group work sessions with girls that have been suspended. "Central to Dr. Albert Schweitzer's work was his ethical philosophy on 'Reverence for Life'" says Joseph. "Dr. Schweitzer's ethics and work with underserved populations also reflect core social work values. As such, serving as a Schweitzer fellow is a two-fold opportunity to effect change through his legacy while engaging social work values." Read more about the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship and past School of Social Work recipients here.
