Doctoral student Andrea Joseph selected for a 2013-2014 Fulbright US Postgraduate Award

The Fulbright postgraduate award to the U.K. provides an opportunity to take coursework, leading to a Masters in Social Justice and Education, at the University of London’s Institute of Education.  There she will explore the racialized components of schooling and academic achievement as manifested through teacher education and praxis.  Ms. Joseph will also investigate U.K. education policy through the auspices of The Runnymede Trust, while participating in Critical Race Theory workshops at the University of East London. This award will contribute to her doctoral research on best practices for countering the socio-political determinants of education disparities effecting black and brown children.
