CRSP joined in facilitating and presenting at a UN side event

More than 130 people attended a side event co-hosted by several University of Pittsburgh units during the second session of the United Nations’ Permanent Forum on People of African Descent.

The May 31 event, “Building a Case for U.S. Reparations,” brought experts and advocates to New York City to explore the urgent need for reparatory justice at the local, national and international levels.

The Frederick Honors College facilitated the event along with Pitt’s Center for Civil Rights and Racial Justice and Ron Idoko, Associate Director of the Center on Race and Social Problems. Other partner organizations included Howard University School of Law, Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, FirstRepair and the African American Redress Network. Read more.
