Child welfare program chosen for training grant

Dean Betsy Farmer, Principal Investigator, Child Welfare Education and Research Programs and Clinical Associate Professor Helen Cahalane (PI on the project), and community partner Director of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services Marc Cherna have received a training grant from the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute. This project, which is one of 8 grants awarded nationally, will provide funds for the SSW to work more closely with Allegheny County around building and diversifying the child welfare workforce. Concretely, it provides generous stipends for up to 7 MSW students each year (for the next 4 years) who are interested in working in child welfare.See map of sites.
