BASW student Mackenzie Buday has been awarded the David C. Frederick Public Service Internship Award for Summer 2022. This award is given to the top four outstanding students who apply and provides a stipend of up to $6000 to support them to pursue full-time unpaid summer internships focused on public service in the government or nonprofit sector. Buday will be working at The Sentencing Project in Washington D.C. TSP is a research and advocacy center and according to their mission statement, "The Sentencing Project advocates for effective and humane responses to crime that minimize imprisonment and criminalization of youth and adults by promoting racial, ethnic, economic, and gender justice."
