Fall LSW Prep Course (For Current Students & Recent Grads)

- 9:00am-12:00pm....Review Section One of the LSW/LCSW Exam Prep Manual
- 12:00pm-12:30pm...Lunch
- 12:30pm-4:00pm.....Review Section Two of the LSW/LCSW Exam Prep Manual
Exam Manuals:
The exam manuals will be available for purchase via cash or check for $40.00, as of Monday, September 15th. Checks can be made payable to: University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. *Please let me know when you plan to stop by to pick up your book (email: mlg161@pitt.edu) from the Cathedral of Learning, 22nd floor, Room 2227).
If you are not purchasing a manual, one will be provided for your use during the course. Also, there are manuals held on reserve at the Hillman Library.

Mentorship Program (Registration Opens Soon!)
Welcome to the Pitt School of Social Work Mentorship Program!
The goal of this program is to create impactful connections between social work students and alumni, through mentorship in career pathway exploration, leadership skill development, professionalism, licensure preparedness, and cultivating professional networks. All current undergraduate or graduate students and recent graduates (within five years of graduation) are eligible to participate as a mentee. Each mentee will be matched with one alumnus based on a combination of factors, including their mentor preferences that were indicated in the program registration application, and overlapping interests and area of specialization. Please note: Incomplete profiles will not be considered for matching.
Program Timeline:
- This is an 8-week program that will be launched in two cycles (Fall Cycle: October 1st-November 19th) and (Spring Cycle: February 4th-April 1st)
- The Fall Cycle:
- Mentee registration period is September 8th-September 22nd
- Mentees and Mentors are notified of their match on September 26th
- The Spring Cycle:
- Mentee registration period is January 5th-January 26th
- Mentees and Mentors are notified of their match on January 30th
Mentee Expectations:
- Connect with your mentor (i.e. in person, or virtually) at least twice during the program cycle
- Take initiative in scheduling mentor meetings
- Establish personal and professional goals
Mentor Expectations:
- Provide guidance and assistance through assessment of the mentee's values, interests and skills, general career exploration based on social work practice specialization, or LBSW, LSW or LCSW exam application or exam prep
- Assist with developing networking skills or in expanding the mentee's professional network
- Highlight or expose the mentee to opportunities for job shadowing or experiential activities
