Freshman Guarantee

Social Work Guarantee

A separate application is not necessary to be considered for the Social Work Guarantee. To be considered for the guarantee, select “Social Work” in the Guaranteed Admission Program dropdown box on the Undergraduate Application for Admission. Students have two options:

Option 1

  • The BASW program is an upper-division program beginning in the junior year, offered at the Pittsburgh campus only. Apply during your sophomore year to enter the Bachelor of Arts in Social Work program in the School of Social Work.
  • Complete the BASW program with an overall 3.2 GPA or above.
  • Complete the application for the Master’s Degree in Social Work 12-month advanced standing program during your final year of the undergraduate program.

Option 2

  • Complete your undergraduate degree in any major with a minimum of a 3.2 GPA.
  • Complete the application to the Master of Social Work program during your final year of the undergraduate program.

Test-optional applicants are eligible for this guarantee.
International students are eligible for this guarantee.
