Tonya Slawinski
- Director of Field Education
Tonya Slawinski received her Ph.D. and MSW from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Social Work and her undergraduate degree in Music Therapy from Shenandoah University (formerly Shenandoah Conservatory of Music).
Tonya currently holds a faculty position and functions as the Director of Field Education in addition to teaching and field liaison responsibilities in the BASW and MSW Program. She has taught in both programs since 1996 and also served as the MSW program coordinator at University of Pittsburgh – Johnstown campus in the past.
With a deep foundation in clinical work, Tonya works closely with global experts to develop best practices for responses to disasters, workplace incidents and potentially traumatic events. She is recognized for the development of a customized response training incorporating latest global research for Shengxin EAP Institute in China and for her many contributions to Employee Assistance and workplace practices in the US.
