Associate Professor Leah Jacobs will be mentoring Berkeley student Nereida Heller, who has received the the Sosozei pre-dissertation fellowship for her work on sobering centers. The Sosozei Foundation focuses on access to mental healthcare in order to eliminate the inappropriate use of jails and prisons for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness in the United States
