Dr. Quinton Cotton joined the Pittsburgh Alzheimer’s Association and Congresswoman Summer Lee to discuss the importance of public investment in research that supports persons living with dementia and their caregivers.
“Research is the foundation for developing strong, culturally responsive programs that meet the real needs of older adults and their families,” said Dr. Quinton Cotton. “But research alone is not enough—we also need thoughtful public policy to ensure these programs are accessible and sustainable. Together, research and policy create the pathway to protect the health and dignity of older adults.”
Dr. Cotton, who recently received a New Investigator Award from the Alzheimer’s Association, will begin recruitment this fall for a study focused on strengthening intergenerational connections to support older adults and persons living with dementia.
