Cruce hosts lived expertise leaders in child welfare

Last week, University of Pittsburgh doctoral candidate Amanda Cruce, with the mentorship of Drs. Deborah Moon & Mary Beth Rauktis, hosted 12 lived expertise leaders in child welfare in Pittsburgh. The group tackled difficult issues around transitional support for youth who spent time in foster care using Human Centered Design research with support from the School of Social Work Care Work Collaborative. Additionally, the Flourishing Research Collaboratives team engaged the group in Concept Mapping to explore the concept of family flourishing. The group was formed with a partnership from Journey to Success, the National Foster Parent Association, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work with the hope of creating lasting connections and long-term solutions. Doctoral students Hyun Jin (Jenn) Lee and Ruijie (Ray) Ma facilitated and provided support for the event.
