Bethany McLaughlin

Bethany McLaughlin is the MSW Program Coordinator and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Bethany has many years of experience in higher education, in both clinical and non-clinical spaces, and working with adolescents and college students. Most recently, Bethany was the Middle and Upper School Counselor at Winchester Thurston School. Prior to this, she worked as a crisis counselor and consulting clinician first at Robert Morris University, and then Carnegie Mellon University. Bethany has expertise in creating and implementing mental health programming for adolescents in educational settings. She has also spent time providing case management and therapy in Community Health and Mental Health settings.

Bethany holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh, and an Honours BA from the University of Toronto (Victoria University) in Anthropology, Bioethics, and Environmental Studies.

Bethany’s clinical interests include the impacts of social media on adolescents; the application of Dialectical Behavior Therapy in high schools and on college campuses; and utilizing self-compassion in the therapeutic setting.
