Alumna named National Director

MSW alumna Ms. Jennifer A. Koget, LCSW, BCD was named to the position of National Director of Social Work, Fisher House & Family Hospitality, and Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Programs in Care Management and Social Work within the Office of Patient Care Services, Veterans Health Administration. In this role, Ms. Koget has the unique opportunity to lead the clinical practice of over 17,000 social workers across VHA. She will also provide leadership and oversight for the VA Fisher House and Temporary Lodging and Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Programs.

Ms. Koget recently served as the National Program Manager for the VA Fisher House and Family Hospitality Program where she provided operational oversight for VA Fisher House and non-clinical temporary lodging programs including the identification of VA priority sites for future Fisher House construction; coordination of Fisher House projects in various stages of construction; and guidance related to Fisher House activation and operations. As a result of Ms. Koget’s immense knowledge of VA’s operational environment and the development of strong partnership, VA’s Fisher House Program has achieved an impressive expansion in scope and size and most recently expanding the program mission and offering accommodations to the family members, caregivers or support persons of individuals receiving care under VA’s Fourth Mission.

Ms. Koget earned a Bachelor of Sociology/Psychology/Anthropology from Carlow University and holds a Master of Social Work from University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Professional Leadership/Health Education from Carlow University.

Ms. Koget has over 23 years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker. She is an exemplary leader whose multiple achievements have not only enhanced VA’s mission, but also set a best practice example in developing innovative collaborations with community partners.  She holds several professional achievement and service awards, including the prestigious American Hospital Association (AHA) Federal Health Care Executive Special Achievement Award (2019).
