SUBJECT: Field Education Continuity Plan for Disruption of Field Placement Activities and Field Education Strategies For Remote Competency Development
Dear Field Instructors and Agency Task Supervisors:
I want to start by thanking you for all you do to help educate our students, your contribution to their success is immeasurable.
Due to the global pandemic, Governor Wolfe closing all K-12 PA Schools, and many agencies moving workers to remote working options, the School has decided to end all on- site field work as of today, March 16th.
We know that both students and field instructors would prefer to continue working together, serving clients during these extraordinary times, but we also must recognize importance of the social distancing approach to the pandemic. This is not an easy decision but a necessary one that the School of Social Work must make.
Please be advised that your student will be contacting you this week regarding the completion of their spring term evaluation and time sheet, and their faculty liaison will be contacting you regarding a remote field visit. A small number of students may also need to complete some hours to meet their graduation requirements and faculty field liaisons may be discussing remote work options (if available) with you as well.
Once again, the School thanks you for all you do and we believe we will all emerge from this situation stronger and more united as a society.
As always, do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any other questions or concerns.
Please be well and use all necessary precautions to maintain your health.
