KEYNOTE:  Helping Families and Children Affected by Opioid and Other Substance Use Disorders: Key Roles for Social Workers

Dennis Daley, PhD

Sr. Clinical Director, Substance Use Services, UPMC Insurance Division; Professor of Psychiatry and Social Work, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine

Dr. Daley has a long history of involvement in clinical services, research, teaching, and disseminating information about treatment and recovery from substance use disorders.  He held multiple roles in his 30 years at WPIC including Chief of Addiction Medicine Services (14 years), Director of the Appalachian Tri-State Node of NIDA’s Clinical Trial Network (11 years), Director of Center for Psychiatric and Chemical Dependency Services (10+ years), and Director of Family Studies and Social Work (2 years).  Dr. Daley has presented his work throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Taiwan and Vietnam.  He has authored or co-authored over 400 publications including books, chapters, recovery guides, treatment manuals, journal articles and other papers.  He recently published 3 books with Oxford University Press on Recovery From Addiction for: Individuals, Families, and Practitioners.  His materials have been translated in multiple languages and used throughout the world.
