April 29, 2022 - 9:00am to 2:00pm

Instructor: Brooke Rawls, Ph.D., LCSW

Did you know that African Americans have the highest infant mortality rate in the United States? Additionally, were you aware that African American mothers are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy related complications than white women. This training will bring awareness to the racial disparities impacting black maternal and infant health. It will explore maternal and infant mortality rates, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADS), and other negative health outcomes for black birthing persons.
