CWERP COVID-19 Information

The faculty and staff of the Child Welfare Education and Research Programs (CWERP) recognize that continued vigilance is needed as we navigate the public health implications of COVID-19. As a statewide continuum of programs, we maintain the awareness that local conditions will dictate the need for which prevention actions to take based on how much COVID-19 is impacting a specific community.  Recent information for Pitt is available at Power of Pitt | University of Pittsburgh.

Updated COVID-19 information at the community level is provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and is available at CDC COVID-19 Community Level.  The CDC updates this information every Thursday by 8 pm ET.

The University of Pittsburgh removed COVID-related access restrictions for university buildings on all campuses on July 1, 2022.  Mask rules will be triggered automatically by the CDC Community Level data.  Response testing will be offered to individuals who may have been exposed.  Mitigation requirements for activities conducted through the PA Child Welfare Resource Center are determined by local county conditions.  Information is updated weekly and available at PACWRC website.

Current CWEB and CWEL students should follow the guidance issued by their school program regarding virus mitigation measures, classes, and field work. The CWERP faculty and staff remain committed to the operation of our child welfare programs.  We are best reached by email and will respond to any questions or concerns as quickly as possible.
