Social Work Micro Credential Programming
"Micro credentials are a competency-based digital form of certification. They can be issued for formal and informal professional learning experiences that support developing skills and acquiring knowledge to improve professional practice." - nea.org
Over the past few months the Professional Education Team has been working diligently to create a series of social work micro credential programs. These programs will allow you to use your required 30 hours of Continuing Education to take a deep dive into specific subject matter and become competent in a new area of practice.
Throughout 2020-2021 we will be releasing four brand new micro credential programs in the following areas:
- Substance Use Disorders
- Race, Equity and Social Problems
- Problem Gambling Certificate Program
- Trauma-Informed Practice
All participants who complete micro credential programs will receive their CE hours via traditional certificate, as well as a digital badge that they can display on LinkedIn, social media platforms, resumes, and online portfolios. In addition, all of these programs have an equity and intersectionality component that was introduced as a requirement for all new professional programming. We made sure this is an integral part of the curriculum during the development of these programs and we ask participants to evaluate us on related metrics at the end of the program.
More details and registration info will be coming soon!
