Nominations for Pitt Social Work’s 2021 Distinguished Alumni Awards are now open. Anyone may nominate a Pitt Social Work alum for an award. Self-nominations are also accepted. Click this link to submit a nomination.
Nomination forms for the 2021 Distinguished Alumni Awards are due by 11:59 p.m. EDT on Saturday, July 31. The 2021 class of recipients will be recognized at an event in the fall.
There are five award categories:
Distinguished Alumni Award for Social Work Education: This award honors alumni who have contributed toward the continued development and advancement of social work education at the bachelors, masters or doctoral level.
Distinguished Alumni Award for Social Work Practice: This award honors alumni who have made exceptional contributions to their communities throughout their professional career. Nominees may work in direct practice or apply skills learned from their social work education in other professional sectors.
Regional Impact Award: Formerly known as the Outstanding Alumni Award. This award honors alumni whose accomplishments, affiliations, and careers have made an outstanding community impact. Nominees also remain committed to the continued success and advancement of Pitt Social Work and the University of Pittsburgh.
Outstanding Field Instructor Award: This award recognizes a field instructor for their contributions and service to the School and its students.
Rising Star Alumni Award: This award recognizes alumni who have made significant contributions to the social work field or other professional settings by applying social work values within ten years of graduation.
