Edward Sites, Ph.D., ACSW, LCSW Professor Emeritus of Social Work



Professor Edward Sites has been a faculty member in the School since 1966 and was awarded emeritus status in 2006.  He served as Director of Admission and Financial Aid, Chair of the Children and Youth Concentration, Coordinator of the joint Master of Social Work/Master of Divinity degree program with the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Coordinator of the Home and School Visitor Program, a member of the doctoral faculty,  and as the founding Principal Investigator of the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Education and Research Programs.  He taught child welfare policy, grant proposal writing, and supervision among other subjects. Currently, Dr. Sites is active in the School working on special projects.  Outside the University he is engaged in a number of professional pursuits including serving as the Facilitator of Allegheny County’s Act 33 Child Fatality/Near Fatality Review Team.
