Biography

Dr. Mann's primary interests are in the areas of policy and practice in drug and alcohol. Dr. Mann has had extensive experience in the drug and alcohol field as both a direct practician and administrator, and as a regional and state drug and alcohol policy analyst.

Dr. Mann's current research interests are in the areas of drug policy, pathways to treatment, and treatment outcomes in drug and alcohol programs.

Dr. Mann earned his doctorate and master of social work degrees from the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh, and a master of science in hygiene from the Graduate School of Public Health from that same institution. He has been a social work practitioner for over 35 years, and a social work educator for over 23 years.

Dr. Mann has received letters of commendation from the University of Pittsburgh, Office of the Vice Chancellor and has served for over six years as the director of the BASW program at the School of Social Work.

Dr. Mann has published in the areas of drug policy rehabilitation, school-to-work transition, and social work with groups.
