Three faculty members are promoted

Professors Valire Copeland, Daniel Rosen, and Fengyan Tang have been promoted to the rank of Full Professor. Dr. Copeland is Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the associate director of the Public Health Social Work Training Program, and faculty affiliate in the Center for Minority Health at the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public Health. She also co-directs the Center for Minority Health’s Cultural Competency, Health Literacy, and Participatory Research Core. She is Co-Director of the Faculty Diversity Seminar, Office of the Provost & Senior Vice Chancellor.David E. Epperson Professor of Social Work Daniel Rosen received his PhD in social work and sociology, MSW, and BA in political science, all from the University of Michigan. Dr. Tang’s research focuses on productive and social engagement in later life, that is, engagement in social roles (e.g., volunteer, worker, and caregiver) that are meaningful to the individual and society.  She also conducts research on how to provide adequate care to vulnerable older adults and the aging experiences in Chinese immigrants.
