SSW welcomes new faculty members

Assistant Professor Jaime Booth, Lecturer Tiffany T. Lumpkin, and Associate Professor Mary Ohmer will join the School of Social Work faculty this fall.

Assistant Professor Jaime Booth

Assistant Professor Jaime Booth earned her Ph.D. in Social work from Arizona State University. Dr. Booth’s research focuses on the role of context and identity in the stress process, the impact of differential stress experiences on health disparities in minority populations and strives to identify protective factors that can be enhanced to mitigate these outcomes. 

Lecturer Tiffany T. Lumpkin

Before coming to the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, Lumpkin was the Program Director of two Family Engagement Models, Family Group Decision Making and Conferencing and Teaming at Small Seeds Development, Inc. Her research interests include prevention and reduction of disparity among at risk or underserved populations, such as education, disparity in health status, social inequity/justice and economic status.

Associate Professor Mary Ohmer

Associate Professor Mary Ohmer received her Ph.D. with distinction from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Social Work. Mary also received her MSW and MPIA from the University of Pittsburgh, and BSW from Gannon University in Erie, PA. Her primary area of research is on civic engagement and participation and its effects on individuals and communities, and intervention research focused on facilitating community capacity to address substantive neighborhood problems.
