MSW alumna chosen as Presidential Management Fellow

MSW Alumna and former Center on Race and Social Problems Project Coordinator Dan'Talisha Deans was just selected as a Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program. She’ll be working at U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development working in the Performance Management Division of the Office of the Chief Human Capital Management Officer. "It is truly a huge accomplishment for me and it says a lot about the faculty and staff here at Pitt. They have all contributed to my success along the way," says Deans. The PMF Program is a flagship leadership development program at the entry level for advanced degree candidates. It was created more than three decades ago by Executive Order and attracts and selects the best candidates possible, but is really designed with a more narrow focus - developing a cadre of potential government leaders. The PMF Program inculcates a lasting bond as well as a spirit of public service, ultimately encouraging and leading to a career in the government. The PMF Program is extremely competitive, with only 609 Finalists selected out of nearly 7,000 applicants.Deans is an MSW COSA Alumni (Certificate in Human Services Management) who graduated in December 2012.Read more about the PMF Program.
