Helping kindergarteners get off to a great start!

The first day of school can be scary – especially for kindergarteners. Kindergarten Kick-Offs are a fun way to ease kids’ anxiety and make the first day of school memorable. Join us as we welcome students and their families with smiling faces, warm handshakes, high-fives, balloons, and much more! It's important for kids to start the school year strong; research shows that students’ attendance in September likely predicts their attendance behavior for the rest of the year. By volunteering with us, you are helping to build a caring and positive school culture from day one, making students more likely to keep coming back. Kindergarten Kick-Offs are a partnership between the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania and the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Pitt-Assisted Communities & Schools (PACS) will partner on Pittsburgh Faison's Kindergarten Kick-Off, which will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 7:55am-8:55am.For more information please contact Chalis Henderson at 412-624-1346 or chenderson@pitt.edu
