Doctoral student awarded fellowship

Doctoral student Serwaa S. Omowale will be a fellow for the Dr. C. Tsehloane Keto Student Leadership Development and Mentorship Program, also called “Keto Fellow”  offered by the National Council for Black Studies. As a fellow, she will be a full member of the organization’s board of directors for two years and will develop a project for the organization with other fellows. The purpose of the program is to provide leadership training to the next generation of young scholars and professionals who will assume positions of responsibility in the field of Africana Studies and in the African Diaspora community. In addition, students will receive financial support to attend fall board meetings and annual conferences. The total amount is $1,000 for the two-year period.
