Alumna Betty Baer, Ph.D. 1979, Passes Away

Baer made a significant, even ground-breaking, contribution to baccalaureate social work education via her seminal work with Dr. Ron Frederico in the Undergraduate Social Work Curriculum Project -- also known as the West Virginia Project. This important work served to conceptualize and define generalist social work and competency-based practice, and culminated in a comprehensive report and book entitled, “Educating the Baccalaureate Social Worker” (1978). Read more about her life and achievements on the University of Wisconsin website.
