2014 Community Practice Awardees Announced

The School of Social Work of the University of Pittsburgh - with generous support from James V. Cunningham, Professor Emeritus and colleagues - has established a Community Practice Award Fund that recognizes students that are making a significant community practice contribution to the planning and implementation of a community-related effort of substance. 2014 Community Practice Awardees:

MSW Megan Fabbri – for her work in building resident engagement for the Oakland Green Team  and the Coalition of Oakland Residents, as well as for her leadership on the International Social Work Days at the SSW, especially the student international poster session.

Miranda Miller – for her work in developing a youth advocacy program to address youth issues in the LGBTQ Community in Pittsburgh

BASW Samantha Wechsler – for her work in strengthening communications and organization capacity at the Thomas Merton Center to address peace and justice issues and, especially,  for developing the Young Adult Social Justice Committee
