NASW-PA LSW Exam Preparation Workshops Nov 15, 2014, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm



Need to prepare for your LSW Exam?  The School of Social Work is hosting two NASW-PA LSW Exam Preparation Workshops!  The workshops take place on Saturday, April 12 or May 10, 2014 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Becoming a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) in Pennsylvania requires a computerized examination at, respectively, the intermediate or clinical level as conducted by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB; www.aswb.org). This workshop will review the critical areas and issues of social work practice included in these exams. You will receive a copy of the PA-NASW LSW Prep Manual that will be reviewed during the workshop. In this LC/LSW Exam Preparation workshop you will:

  • Review the LC/LSW Exam Preparation, Licensing, and Continuing Education Requirements
  • Differentiate the LSW and LCSW examinations
  • Review areas and suggestions for studying and reading
  • Learn Helpful test-taking and exam preparation hints
  • Complete and review a practice exam
  • Gain a sense of preparedness that may help ease examination anxiety

FACULTY: Virginia “Ginny” Vayda, LCSW ACSW, CMC, is Supervisor of Social Work, OEF/OIF/OND, Homeless Care Continuum and Veteran Employment Services at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center in Altoona, PA. She was formerly the Victim Advocate Supervisor for MHN Government Services-HealthNet, INc. working with clinical services to active military members and their families. Ginny is also a field education associate and adjunct faculty member of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work. She has more than 20 years experience in medical social work that includes designing and implementing social work case management programs in a variety of settings. She is co-author of the Social Work Best Practice Clinical Case Management Standards in Healthcare.
