Bio Sketch

Anita Graham, MSW, LCSW graduated from West Virginia University with a Master of Social Work degree in 1983. She is a licensed certified social worker in the State of West Virginia. She has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Academy of Certified Social Workers. She began her social work career as a Youth Services Worker for the Department of Health and Human Resources where she worked for four years. She then moved to Children’s Home Society of West Virginia where she worked for over 14 years serving in a variety of positions, including Director of Community Based Services and Adoption Specialist. Following her departure from Children’s Home Society Anita has continued her adoption work in private practice and continues to serve on the Project Attach Committee through the Dioceses of Steubenville, Ohio. In 1996, Anita began her pediatric oncology career at WVU Healthcare serving as the pediatric hematology oncology social worker and in 2003 her responsibilities increased with the addition of the social worker role for the Hemophilia Treatment Center. Anita has served as the Camp Director of Camp Winaca Camp HemoVon since 2004. She is a member of the American Camp Association and presently serves as a Standards Visitor and is a member of the Standards Review Committee for the Virginia’s Section. In 1997, Anita became a member of the Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers and served as Board Secretary from 2010-2012 and presently serves as President Elect for 2014-2016. Anita is also a member of the Behavioral Science Committee for the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), 2014 to present.
