COVID-19 Lasting Impacts on the Geriatric Population

Our project is a four-section questionnaire designed to assess the lingering impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the geriatric population. The four sections of our questionnaire focus on mental and physical health, social life, and economics. With this sample we have the goal of formulating a conclusion from the data we collected. We desired to see a generalize statement that speaks to how deeply the pandemic has impacted the geriatric population.

SilverAlert
SilverAlert is a plan to create a statewide notification systems targeting older adults and disabled adults. We worked with local organizations to coordinate in-person seminars that were also recorded for future use in an effort to educate the public, along with the distribution of physical brochures and educational materials. We created and maintained a social media campaign on multiple platforms with the goal of public awareness and education for all age groups.

What We Wore
Utilizing principles from the reminiscence and art therapies, our project explores the significance of what we put on our bodies and why. Our project was inspired by Love, Loss, and What I Wore, a play written by Nora and Delia Ephron based on the 1995 book of the same name by Ilene Beckerman as well as the Netflix docuseries Worn Stories. Through these one-hour group sessions we attempt to explore the meaning behind what we wear and how it shapes who we are throug experiential props, discussion and an art activity.
