Resumes, Cover Letters & References – This session will provide participants information, tips and tricks on how to effectively create and customize action and results-oriented resumes and engaging cover letters.  Tuesday, February 7 – 12-1pm or 5-6pm Room – 2309 CL

Social Work Licensure – Professional licensure is critical to career advancement in social work. Participants will be introduced to social work licensure including the LSW and LCSW. This session will focus primarily on licensure in Pennsylvania, although sources of information for other states will be presented. School of Social Work Alumna – Kristina Faddoul, Clinical Social Worker at Magee Women’s Hospital of UPMC will facilitate this workshop. Effective Interviews – This session will provide participants with the strategies and skills necessary to turn interviews into job offers. Best practices for preparation, attire, agenda and follow-up will be discussed. Tuesday, February 28 – 12-1pm - Room 2309 CL -or- Thursday, March 2 – 5-6pmRoom 2309 CL

Evaluating and Negotiating Offers – The ability to effectively evaluate multiple job offers and negotiate the many aspects of compensation is often new territory for social workers. Participants will receive information on the various components of compensation (salary, benefits, retirement, etc.) and strategies on how to negotiate the strongest deal possible. Tuesday, April 4, 12-1pm and Thursday, April 6, 5-6pm - Room 2309 CL

March Career Madness Student - Alumni Networking Event - Thursday, March 23 – 5-7pm Social Work Conference Center – Room 2017 CL. DP and COSA alumni will be attending. Don’t miss this event. Food and Refreshments will be served.
