Social Work Licensure – Professional licensure is critical to career advancement in social work. Participants will be introduced to social work licensure including the LSW and LCSW. This session will focus primarily on licensure in Pennsylvania, although sources of information for other states will be presented. School of Social Work Alumna – Kristina Faddoul, Clinical Social Worker at Magee Women’s Hospital of UPMC will facilitate this workshop. Resumes, Cover Letters & References – This session will provide participants information, tips and tricks on how to effectively create and customize action and results-oriented resumes and engaging cover letters. Tuesday, February 6 – 5-6pm and Thursday, February 8 – 5-6pm - Room – 2309 CL

Effective Interviews – This session will provide participants with the strategies and skills necessary to turn interviews into job offers. Best practices for preparation, attire, agenda and follow-up will be discussed. Thursday, March 1 – 5-6pm and Tuesday, March 13 – 5-6pmRoom 2309 CL

School of Social Work – Spring Job Fair –This is a dress for success event. Update your resume and be prepared to convince employers you are the Social Worker they want. Fifteen agencies are expected at the job fair. Thursday, March 29th – 10 – 3pm – Room 2017 CL.

Evaluating and Negotiating Offers – The ability to effectively evaluate multiple job offers and negotiate the many aspects of compensation is often new territory for social workers. Participants will receive information on the various components of compensation (salary, benefits, retirement, etc.) and strategies on how to negotiate the strongest deal possible. Tuesday, April 3, 5-6pm and Thursday, April 5, 5-6pm - Room 2309 CL
