Directing Your Gift
Over the years, support from our donors has made it possible for the school to provide our students with the best quality education. As we continue to strive to become one of the nation's top schools of social work, your support helps to further advance our progress.
Our donors have made gifts in a variety of ways:
- Professorships and chairs allow the school to attract and retain outstanding educators and researchers as faculty.
- Fellowships help us attract outstanding students pursuing graduate work.
- Scholarships and student resource funds allow us to provide merit scholarships to attract outstanding students and afford them a wonderful educational opportunity.
- Unrestricted operating funds provide the school with support as we meet new challenges.

There are several ways to make a gift to the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work.
- Giving online is the easiest way to make a gift to the school. You can give online through Pitt's secure giving website and designate your gift to the School of Social Work. Visit www.giveto.pitt.edu.
- Cash is another common way to donate to the school. Make the check payable to the "University of Pittsburgh" and enclose it with the pledge card. If you would like your gift to be allocated to support a particular department, program, or scholarship, please indicate this on the pledge card. You can also send your check to:

- Gifts of Securities are another way to support the school. The process is easy and can be done electronically.
- Invest in the Future with a Planned Gift. The term planned giving refers to charitable gifts that are arranged with forethought and planning and are executed over an extended period of time or at some point in the future.
